|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until November 15, 2026

Step inside the courthouse that once shaped the course of justice in Portsmouth and beyond.

From witch trials to slavery-era rulings to civil rights sit-ins and debates over Confederate monuments, A Seat of Justice explores how law, power and memory have intersected inside the Norfolk County Courthouse – right here in this very building.

Through compelling cases, personal stories and pivotal moments in history, this exhibit challenges visitors to consider how justice has been shaped, challenged and remembered over time.
