Olde Towne Scottish Walk
December 31 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Free
The annual Portsmouth tradition is modeled after Scotland’s Hogmanay Festival, the walk is a day when townspeople honor their community and merchants, wishing good luck and prosperity in the coming year. Join the procession of families, friends and visitors led by bagpipe-and-drums. Gather at 4 pm at the corner of Queen and Washington Streets. The walk steps off at 4:30 and continues around Olde Towne ending at the High Street Landing for a flag ceremony that honors George Washington’s raising of the first flag, the Grand Union and the singing of Auld Lang Syne. This year’s honored Scottish Clan is Kincaid.
