What hardships would you endure to live free…to have a place to call your own…to create a community where all are equal. Travel deep into the Great Dismal Swamp as the performers weave a fascinating tale through monologue, vignette, and song.
A recitation by Tonya Sinclair Swindell of her poem, “A Call to the Descendants of the Maroons” completes this meaningful Commemoration of Juneteenth 2024.
