Eric Michael Mazur (Ph.D., is the Gloria & David Furman Professor of Judaic Studies, professor of religious studies, and the Religion, Law, & Politics Fellow of the Robert Nusbaum Center at Virginia Wesleyan University. As the political season heats up, we take a tour of Jewish involvement in
presidential campaigning, exploring this often-overlooked area – campaign brica-brac – and examine the presentation of Judaism and Jewish identity on
presidential campaign buttons across the twentieth century, and the related appearance of campaign-related yarmulkes in the twenty-first century.
