School’s Out for Summer Comedy Tour

MoMac Brewery celebrates TWO YEARS of providing the best in live professional stand up comedy and we have another banging lineup of comics featuring several performers who work or once worked as public school educators! It’s a night of laughs and lessons!!

ABOUT THE COMEDIANS:

HOST: KHARI REID

Look up the definition of “busy” on your phone and you might see a photo of Khari Reid! You can catch him almost every night of every week of every month onstage slinging jokes in North Carolina and Virginia. Besides being a quick witted comic, he also produces and books dozens of comedy events at breweries and vineyards in the South so he knows how a good comedy show should be run. He started his comedy career in Los Angeles but now he is a resident of Raleigh, NC where he is getting big laughs with his pinpoint comic takes on race, politics, the pandemic and the oddness of every day life. He will kick off this show at MoMac with a burst of energy and humor sharpened by the many shows he performs night after night……

SPECIAL GUEST: WESTON SUGGS

After years as a youth group leader and a public school educator, Weston Suggs finally gave up on trying to be a good person and began a career as a stand up comedian. He got his start and got noticed on social media as the irreverent sketch comedian “Shrimp King.” Hailing from Raleigh, NC, Weston now is a regular performer at the prestigious Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh and his comedy schedule is filling up more and more each week! His unpredictable wit will either have you laughing uncontrollably or choking on your Momac pint. Either way, you’ll be gasping for air. It’s his first time at MoMac and we’re lucky to bring him to town……….

FEATURE ACT: KYMBERLI TUCKER

Kymberli is a stand up comic, actor, writer and TV personality. Onstage she shares her life with honest humor using physical act outs and sarcasm to make you giggle (and sometimes squirm). She is a regular at all the hot comedy spots around town including the Push Comedy Theater and the Va Beach Funny Bone where she recently performed at the “Something On The Stage” all-star stand up comedy showcase event. Catch her Sunday in Ptown…..

FEATURE ACT: ROBERT TAYLOR

After retiring from the Chesapeake Public School system, this retired principal decided to get a real job —-so he took a “stand up comedy” class taught by his almost-jaded mentor Hatton Jordan at the Push Comedy Theater in Norfolk. After hitting a lot of mics in and out of town…VOILA!!!….Robert is now a regular performer at Cozzy’s in Newport News AND the Funny Bone in Va Beach where he TWICE won the “Clash of the Comics” comedy competition. He’s performed in DC and New York City and is ready to bring his sarcastic ass to Ptown this Sunday………

HEADLINER: HATTON JORDAN:

From selling comedy to Mad Magazine to opening up for Demetri Martin to acting on the Discovery ID Channel,

Hatton Jordan finds different ways to stay creative. Hatton, a Portsmouth native, will be closing the show this Sunday will his upbeat, energetic, observational comedy style. He uses his confident voice, tight writing and at times, physical humor to punctuate his delivery. (Ironically, those are the same characteristics he uses in the classroom surviving his day job as an elementary school teacher in Virginia.) Hatton is a regular at the Push Comedy Theater in Norfolk where he produces and hosts the monthly “Second Saturday Stand Up Show.” He also recently did not win the Mega Million lottery drawing.

Food Truck will be available on site during the show.
