The celebration begins on Saturday, March 14. The Olde Towne Public House is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival. Court Street, between High Street and Queen Street, will be closed all day. An outdoor stage features live bands from 11 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. In between bands, you’ll find Irish fiddlers and Scottish bagpipers. If you bring the kids, there’s a bounce house to keep them entertained. Look for crafters and even a glassblower across the street in the Courtyard at the Portsmouth Art and Cultural Center. And if you’re a corn hole player, you definitely want to compete in the tournament. Olde Towne Public House has put together a full day of activities for you to enjoy. You can also venture up and down High Street and find drink and food specials at bars, pubs, and restaurants throughout the Olde Towne, like Roger Browns, Barons Pub, Bier Garden, Humbolt Steel Company, Longboards, and more. Check out the entertainment line-up Olde Towne Public House has planned:
- 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. — Port KnoWhere, a 90’s and 2000’s cover band from Portsmouth, Virginia
- 1–4 p.m. — Hey! Hey! from Virginia Beach, Virginia performing your favorite songs from the 80s, 90s, and 00s.
- 4:30– 8:30 p.m.– Fine Swiss Cheese, modern rock party band from Hampton, Virginia. You definitely don’t want to miss the Cheese Show!
- 9:00 p.m.–Close. — Time to move inside the Olde Towne Public House with Z104’s DJ Joe Fu. You can check out his sound on Mixcloud.
Insider Tip: Olde Towne Pubic House will be tapping a limited edition keg of Smartmouth Brewing Company’s Saturday Morning IPA. This Lucky Charms inspired, toasted marshmallow brewed beer will be tapped when the festival kicks off. There’s only one keg and when it’s gone it’s gone! Arrive early and sample this hard to find IPA.
