Get ready college basketball fans, it’s time for the 2023 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament! 64 elite college seniors will compete in a 4-day tournament with NBA scouts & execs watching every move, pass and slam dunk.
What started in 1953 as a city basketball league has now become an annual national sensation. Every year the country’s top college seniors are invited to Portsmouth to compete in front of professional scouts, agents and eager fans.
Sponsored by the NBA with the goal of bringing this unique talent pool to one location, the P.I.T. kicks off the NBA Draft process as pro teams look for the next under-the-radar superstar. Current and former NBA players who are P.I.T. alumni include Jeremy Lin, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, John Stockton, Tim Hardaway and Dan Majerle. Every player at the tournament wants to join this list!
Join us for this exciting event as these talented college seniors fight for spots with the NBA and top international teams.
Tickets for the 2023 P.I.T. will go on sale beginning March 20 at the Portsmouth Welcome Center, located at 206 High Street (former VA Sports Hall of Fame building). These will be books of four tickets, one for each night of the tournament. The advance cost is $35, a saving of $5 compared to buying nightly tickets at the door. These will be reserved seats but seating in the general admission section is available if desired.
Single night tickets will be available at the door each night for $10 for adults, $5 for guests eighteen and under. Tickets purchased at the door are cash only.
